Great service provided and very reasonable prices offered after having to buy and install a new AC Unit! After several days since we installed the new AC unit by Dr HVAC everything has been running great and the house has been very cool even with the scorching hot weather this summer! As such, we decided to call and schedule another appointment to have maintenance done with cleaning up our coil indoors and they provided great services once again! 2026 Update: After a couple years, we noticed that our indoor AC Unit wasn't running consistent. Sometimes the AC would blow cold air and sometimes it wouldn't. We called Dr HVAC Inc since they helped with the outdoor installation the last time around and they found out that the motor for the indoor unit was blown out and not working. Amine told us he would order a newer model for the indoor AC unit and get his team on it right away. In less than 2 days, he got the new parts ordered from out of the state and worked tirelessly to replace our old unit before the heat wave approached over the weekend. Not only that, but they also replaced our outdated Water heater unit all in the same day since we had a ongoing leak issue. Amine and his team did a FANTASTIC job overall! Their work was Professional and Precise throughout the day. We are thankful for their dedicated hard work and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable HVAC services!Posted on Google![]()

Dr. HVAC saved the day!! My husband and I are recent homebuyers, and we were crushed when our AC stopped working right before the summer heat. From the very first consultation, Dr. HVAC and his team were responsive, professional, informative, and incredibly reassuring. They gave us a fast installation timeline and a very reasonable price for a full system replacement. After the installation, they also identified that our home’s piping was outdated and could affect the performance of the new unit. To protect our investment, they came back the very next day and repiped the house. Everything was completed neatly, efficiently, and with great attention to detail. The level of professionalism, care, and follow-through we experienced was outstanding from start to finish. I truly have no complaints and would absolutely recommend Dr. HVAC to anyone in need of HVAC services. We’re so grateful we found them!Posted on Google![]()

Amine and his team delivered quality customer service and equipment installation. My whole HVAC system was outdated and he gave me a no-filter and straight to the point evaluation of what was going on with no fluff. With the heat coming in and having no AC he prioritized my home’s HVAC replacement and followed through with his work in only 3 days! Looking at other HVAC contractors and receiving their quotes for the same work, Dr HVAC had the most competitive pricing and provided a premium service! The team was very polite, professional, and worked efficiently in ensuring no mess was left in my home and completing their work in a timely manner. I highly recommend Dr HVAC for everyone, their hustle and dedication to ensuring the customer is fully comfortable and satisfied with their needs is like no other.Posted on Google![]()

Common Heating Problems Montclair Property Owners Notice in Winter
Cold mornings and winter temperature swings in Prince William County can quickly expose heating problems. Furnaces and heat pumps may run longer during colder weather, so weak airflow, uneven heat, or frequent backup heat become easier to notice.
Heating Falls Behind
If the system runs for long periods but rooms still feel cold, there may be an airflow, thermostat, furnace, or heat pump problem. This often becomes more noticeable when outdoor temperatures drop, and the heating system is under heavier demand.
Frequent Auxiliary Heat
Some auxiliary heat use is normal during colder conditions, but frequent or extended AUX heat can point to a heat pump performance, thermostat, airflow, or equipment issue. Heat pumps naturally rely more on backup heat as outdoor temperatures fall.
Uneven Room Temperatures
Large temperature differences between floors can become more obvious during Montclair winters. Restricted airflow, duct issues, thermostat placement, equipment performance, or system balancing problems can leave some rooms warm while others stay cold.
Higher Heating Bills
If heating costs increase during cold weather but the property still feels uncomfortable, the system may be working harder than it should. Dirty filters, restricted airflow, worn components, thermostat problems, or aging equipment can all reduce heating performance.
Should You Repair or Replace Your Heating System in Montclair?
A repair may be the better choice when the issue is limited to a thermostat, airflow problem, ignition fault, or worn component. If your furnace or heat pump is otherwise reliable, targeted heating repair can restore comfort without replacing the whole system.
Replacement may make more sense when the system needs frequent repairs, struggles to keep up during colder Montclair weather, heats rooms unevenly, or has major component problems. Older equipment that runs constantly can also become harder to justify repairing.
DR HVAC Inc can inspect the system, explain what is causing the problem, and compare repair and replacement options based on equipment condition, comfort needs, and long-term operating costs.

Prepare Your Heating System for Montclair Winter
Cold mornings and changing winter temperatures can put extra demand on furnaces and heat pumps in Montclair.
Seasonal Heating Tune-Ups
A heating tune-up checks system operation before winter demand increases. We look for developing performance issues, worn components, and other problems that could lead to unreliable heat when temperatures fall.
Filter and Airflow Checks
Dirty filters and restricted airflow can reduce heating performance and leave some rooms colder than others. We check filters, airflow, and system operation to help your furnace or heat pump distribute heat more effectively.
Heating Component Inspection
Heating maintenance includes checking key system components for signs of wear or improper operation. Finding small issues early can reduce the chance of unexpected furnace or heat pump problems during colder Montclair weather.
Thermostat Performance Checks
The thermostat controls when and how your heating system runs. We check temperature readings, settings, controls, and system response to help prevent short cycling, constant running, and inconsistent indoor temperatures.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does DR HVAC Inc provide heating services in Montclair, VA?
Yes. DR HVAC Inc provides heating services in Montclair, VA, including heating repair, furnace service, heat pump care, maintenance, installation, thermostat work, and 24/7 emergency HVAC support. The team also serves nearby Dumfries and Triangle, making it a local option for Prince William County heating needs.
What should I do if my heater stops working in Montclair?
If your heater stops working in Montclair, first check the thermostat setting, power supply, breaker, and air filter. If the system still will not heat, shuts down repeatedly, or shows a fault, schedule professional heating repair. Avoid opening gas or electrical components yourself, especially if you notice unusual odors or overheating.
Can I get emergency heating repair in Montclair, VA?
Yes. DR HVAC Inc offers 24/7 emergency HVAC support in Montclair for urgent heating problems. Handle a complete loss of heat, repeated breaker trips, burning odors, or suspected gas issues promptly. If you smell gas, leave the property and contact the gas utility or emergency services before arranging HVAC repair.
When should I schedule heating maintenance in Montclair?
Schedule a heating tune-up before colder weather puts the system under heavier demand. In Montclair, fall is a practical time to inspect the furnace or heat pump and check filters, airflow, thermostat operation, electrical connections, and safety controls so you can address developing issues before peak winter use.
How much does heating repair cost in Montclair, VA?
Heating repair costs in Montclair depend on the fault, equipment type, parts required, labor, and whether the problem involves a furnace, heat pump, thermostat, or controls. A proper diagnosis is needed before pricing the repair. DR HVAC Inc provides upfront pricing so you can review the recommended work before approval.
How do I know if my heating system needs repair?
Common signs include no heat, uneven room temperatures, weak airflow, short cycling, strange noises, or a system that runs much longer than normal. A thermostat fault, clogged filter, ignition issue, blower problem, or worn component can cause similar symptoms, so professional diagnosis is the best way to identify the needed repair.
Should I repair or replace my heating system?
Repair often makes sense when the problem is isolated, the system is otherwise reliable, and the required fix is reasonable. Replacement becomes worth considering when breakdowns are frequent, major components are failing, comfort is poor, or operating costs keep rising. Base the decision on system condition, not age alone.
Can a dirty air filter cause heating problems?
Yes. A dirty air filter can restrict airflow, force a furnace or heat pump to work harder, reduce comfort, and contribute to overheating or short cycling. ENERGY STAR recommends checking filters monthly during heavy-use periods and replacing or cleaning them when dirty, following the equipment manufacturer’s instructions.
How often should a heating system be serviced?
Annual heating maintenance is a good general standard. ENERGY STAR recommends a professional pre-season heating check each year, ideally in fall. A tune-up can include thermostat checks, electrical connections, system controls, airflow, burners or heat-exchanger inspection where applicable, and filter review before winter demand increases
Why does my heat pump keep using auxiliary heat?
A heat pump may use auxiliary heat during colder weather, especially when outdoor temperatures fall or the system is recovering from a large thermostat change. Frequent or extended AUX heat can also point to airflow, thermostat, outdoor-unit, or equipment problems. If it seems excessive, have a technician check the heat pump rather than guessing the cause.
